Meet the Bohemian Belle

Julia Bennett is a historical costume enthusiast with a background in costume and fashion design. After graduating with a bachelor's degree in fashion design, she worked as a costume shop assistant at Pittsburgh's City Theatre. She has been active in historical reenactment, designing and creating many elaborate historical garments for herself and others.

After giving birth to a daughter in 2008 Julia started to work from home as a freelance designer creating historically inspired attire and accessories. Her field of specialty is the late 18th century and early 19th century, also know as Empire or Regency. Julia tries to faithfully reproduce the look and feel of period clothing, doing extensive research on cut, construction methods, and materials used in original garments.
